New ESG Rating
Sustainalytics combines ESG ratings into one
Our main ESG ratings supplier Sustainalytics has decided to combine the current Environmental Performance Assessment and Social Performance Assessment ratings into a new overall rating called the ESG Risk Rating.
This new rating assesses the degree of risk that environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria represent for the economic value of a company. It breaks companies down into five risk categories: negligible, low, medium, high and severe. These risk categories are based on an “absolute” assessment, meaning a risk rating of “high” indicates a comparable degree of ESG risk within the universe of companies analysed, whether it is an agricultural company, a utility or any other type of company. The new system makes it easier to compare companies.
