Electronic signature
Pictet Asset Services now offers the possibility to sign documents digitally with DocuSign.
Find out how it works in the video below.
Practical information
DocuSign and IDnow are both leading actors in their respective fields and their tools are user-friendly. However, we would like to provide some guidance towards a few prerequisites you should be aware of before the onboarding process, when you are signing with a Qualified Electronic Signature for the first time.
- We highly recommend to open this link on your own device, this will avoid potential corporate firewalls blocking connections to these websites.
- The procedure can be carried out on different types of devices: a mobile phone, a tablet or a laptop.
- If you are using a laptop, Chrome is required as an internet browser.
- We would also recommend using a device that has a camera, as this will be necessary in the identification process, when the operator from IDnow asks you security questions and inspects your ID.
- You must be alone to complete the identification process with IDnow for privacy reasons.
- You should have your ID available so that the operator can inspect it.
- The identification process with IDnow can be carried out in English, French, German and Spanish.
What is a Qualified Electronic Signature
A Qualified Electronic Signature is an electronic signature that is recognised legally in the EU eIDAS Regulation and in its swiss equivalent , Bundesgesetz über die elektronische Signatur, ZertES / Loi sur la signature électronique, SCSE.
It allows long-term verification of the authorship of a declaration in an electronic exchange of data. A Qualified Electronic Signature is the digital equivalent of a handwritten signature , and as such has the equivalent legal effect.
